Terms of Service
Last updated: August 10, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and MealTalk LLC ("MealTalk", "we", "us") and govern your use of the MealTalk app and website. By creating an account or using MealTalk, you agree to them. We keep them short and plain on purpose.
What MealTalk is
MealTalk is a food and macro tracking app. You describe what you ate by voice or text, and we match it to foods and nutrition data so you can keep a daily log. Some of that matching uses third-party AI services, as described in our Privacy Policy.
MealTalk is not medical advice
Nutrition values in MealTalk are estimates, built from food databases, label data, and AI-assisted matching. They are for general informational purposes only. MealTalk is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietary, or other professional advice. Do not rely on it to manage a medical condition such as diabetes or a food allergy. For decisions about your health, talk to a qualified professional, and when accuracy matters, check the product label.
Your account
- You sign in with your email address. Keep access to that inbox secure; anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use MealTalk.
- You can delete your account at any time, which removes the data tied to it as described in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse MealTalk. That means, among other things: don't try to break, overload, or probe the service; don't use it to harm others; don't attempt to access other users' data; and don't use automated tools to scrape or extract our food database.
Your content
The meal descriptions, corrections, and feedback you submit remain yours. You give us permission to process them to run the service and to improve MealTalk, including improving our food database, as described in the Privacy Policy. Improvements we build from aggregate use of the service belong to us.
Our content
MealTalk, including its app, design, food database, and brand, belongs to MealTalk LLC and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app for tracking your own nutrition. That license ends if you stop using MealTalk or these terms are terminated.
Subscriptions, Apple offers, and restore
Paid MealTalk plans are billed by Apple through your App Store account. The price, renewal period, and any trial or promotional terms are shown by Apple before you confirm. Subscriptions renew unless canceled in your Apple account settings. You can use MealTalk’s restore action or sign in with the Apple ID that redeemed or purchased the plan. MealTalk relies on Apple’s StoreKit transaction as the authority for paid access.
Alpha gifts and Creator Passes use separate Apple offer codes for the same non-renewing product, shown as MealTalk Annual Pass. Each code provides one free annual period with no paid renewal. A new Creator Pass may be issued each year while the creator remains active; alpha gifts are not automatically reissued. Neither has cash value, can be transferred or replaced after successful redemption, or provides lifetime access. Apple eligibility rules apply, Family Sharing is not included, and MealTalk never asks you to send us the raw code.
Creator links and affiliate relationships
If you claim a creator code before your first qualifying paid transaction, MealTalk may pay that creator 20% of estimated net Apple proceeds from qualifying transactions during the 12-calendar-month earning window that begins with that first transaction, after estimated tax, Apple commission, refunds, and reversals. This does not change your price or access. Attribution is first-claim-wins and a web visit alone does not establish it.
Creators may not refer themselves, manipulate claims or purchases, or conceal that their MealTalk relationship is compensated. Creators are responsible for disclosures required by advertising and endorsement law. MealTalk may deactivate future use of a code while preserving prior records needed for support, commission, and audit.
Beta software
Pre-release and TestFlight versions may change, break, or be removed while we build. Sandbox and TestFlight transactions do not qualify for creator commission.
User referral program
When the user referral program is available, an eligible MealTalk user may share a personal invite. An eligible friend can receive one exclusive, one-time subscription offer from Apple. Apple decides eligibility, redemption, subscription access, renewal timing, refunds, and the exact terms shown before confirmation. The subscription renews automatically at the price Apple displays unless the friend cancels through Apple.
An inviter earns a referral reward only after the friend's first positive-price renewal is confirmed and a 14-day refund and abuse hold clears. A claim must be made before the qualifying purchase. Fraud, abuse, refunds, reversals, sandbox transactions, self-referrals, duplicate or late claims, unsupported storefronts, and invalid or expired codes do not qualify. We may pause the program, review suspicious activity, or mark a reward ineligible. We will not remove an already redeemed reward except through Apple's billing processes.
Invite codes and Apple offer codes are different. A MealTalk invite code identifies the relationship. An Apple offer code is allocated once, cannot be transferred or replaced after successful redemption, and remains subject to Apple's terms. If our offer inventory is temporarily empty, a valid claim remains recorded and support can complete allocation after inventory is restored.
The launch offer is 30 days for the friend and a 30-day reward for the inviter. In every case, Apple eligibility rules apply and the terms Apple displays at redemption control.
Disclaimers
MealTalk is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of nutrition data. We work hard on accuracy, but we cannot guarantee that every value is right or that the service will be uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MealTalk LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of MealTalk. To the extent any liability is not excludable, our total liability is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You can stop using MealTalk at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are harming the service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers and limitation of liability) survive termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we will post the new terms here with a new date above, and where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use MealTalk after a change means you accept the updated terms.
